Caunsel LLC ("Company", "we", "us", "our") operates the website at www.caunsel.com and the Caunsel mobile application available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store (collectively, the "Platform" or "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it. It should be read together with our Terms of Use.

By accessing or using the Platform you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

The Platform is not directed to anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at contact@caunsel.com and we will delete it promptly.

With Lawyers (for consultations)

When you book a consultation, your name, consultation description, country, and state are shared with the matched lawyer. Lawyers do not receive your full account details or payment information.

With Service Providers

We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, including: cloud hosting (Firebase / Google Cloud), payment processing (Stripe, Razorpay), real-time video (100ms / HMS), AI processing (Google Gemini), crash monitoring (Sentry), and push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging). These providers are contractually required to protect your data.

Legal Compliance

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with legal process; (b) protect the rights, property, or safety of Caunsel, our users, or the public; or (c) detect and prevent fraud or security incidents.

Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to this Privacy Policy.

Aggregated / Anonymised Data

We may share anonymised, aggregated data (for example, usage statistics) with partners or for public reporting. This data cannot be used to identify you.

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Firebase Auth), with servers primarily in the United States. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

To permanently delete your account, submit a deletion request through Profile → Delete Account in the app, or email contact@caunsel.com. Upon receiving your request:

IX. Subscriptions and Payment Data

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We receive transaction identifiers, purchase receipts, and subscription status from Apple and Google. Lawyer payout accounts are managed through Stripe (outside India) and Razorpay (India); their privacy policies apply to information provided during payout setup.

X. Push Notifications

With your permission, we send push notifications for incoming consultation requests, messages, and platform updates. You may disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. Disabling notifications may affect real-time features such as incoming call alerts.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites and services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those services. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through our Platform.

XII. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The current version is always available at www.caunsel.com/privacy.
